Exploring Mysore Palaces, Churches and Unexpected Fun
A tired-but-happy Mysore day with palace grandeur, a surprisingly impressive sand sculpture museum, a peaceful lunch break, and a calm visit to St. Philomena’s Church.

After the wrong-bus-stop beginning, Mysore gave us palace grandeur, quiet church moments, and the kind of tiredness that only a good trip can create.
Exploring Mysore Palaces, Churches & Unexpected Fun
After breakfast near Kote Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple, we finally headed towards our hotel.
We reached there, kept our luggage inside, freshened up slightly…
and then immediately left again.
No rest. No proper break.
Because excitement during trips somehow gives people unlimited energy for a while.

Visiting Mysore Palace
The very first place we visited was the iconic Mysore Palace.
And honestly, the palace looked absolutely stunning.
The architecture, royal interiors, huge halls, detailed ceilings, and the overall grandeur of the place made it feel like we had stepped into a different era completely.
Every corner looked beautiful.
We spent a lot of time roaming around inside the palace, observing the details, clicking endless pictures, and simply enjoying the atmosphere.
And honestly, Mysore Palace is one of those places where pictures never fully capture how grand it actually feels in real life.

Visiting Mysore Sand Sculpture Museum
After Mysore Palace, we went to the Mysore Sand Sculpture Museum.
And honestly, it turned out to be much more interesting than we expected.
The level of detailing in the sand sculptures looked genuinely impressive. It was difficult to believe that such massive artworks were created entirely using sand.
We walked around slowly, observed different sculptures, clicked more pictures, and spent quite some time there.
By this point though…
we were completely tired.
The overnight travel, lack of sleep, continuous roaming, and excitement had finally started showing its effect.
Lunch Break & Some Rest
So finally, we decided to stop for lunch first.
Honestly, at that moment, food and sitting peacefully felt more important than sightseeing.
We relaxed properly for a while, had food slowly, talked randomly, and gave our bodies a small break before continuing the day again.
And honestly, those random lunch breaks during trips sometimes become some of the nicest moments.
No rushing. No planning. Just sitting peacefully and enjoying the feeling of being somewhere new.

Visiting St. Philomena's Cathedral
After lunch, we went to St. Philomena’s Church.
And surprisingly, it was just at a walking distance from the restaurant where we were eating.
The church looked absolutely beautiful from outside itself.
The tall towers, peaceful atmosphere, and Gothic-style architecture made the place look completely different from the rest of the locations we had visited that day.
The inside felt calm and peaceful.
We spent some quiet time there, walked around slowly, clicked a few pictures, and simply enjoyed the atmosphere.

And honestly, by then…
we were done for the day.
Completely tired. But extremely happy.
So finally, we decided to head back to the hotel.
And honestly, despite all the bus-stop chaos, sleepless early morning travel, and continuous roaming…
the first day of our Mysore trip had already become unforgettable.
