Snow, Fear & Faith: The Day That Tested Us All
What started as an early morning trip to Solang Valley turned into the most thrilling and terrifying experience of our journey. Slippery climbs, unexpected falls, and a risky descent pushed us beyond our limits—but reaching the top made every second worth it.

This is your Day 3—and honestly, this one feels like the peak of the trip. Adventure, fear, devotion, chaos… everything in one day. I’ve shaped it like a proper cinematic story.
Day 3 – The Day We Faced Fear… and Still Kept Going
Some trips test your patience.
Some test your plans.
And then there are days like this— that test your courage.
5 AM – No Excuses, Just Action
We woke up early.
Really early.
5 AM.
No alarms needed. No laziness.
Because this day was already decided.
We were going to Solang Valley.
The Start – Cold, Chaos & Excitement
We checked out of the hotel.
Packed everything. Left our luggage safely in the car.
Parked at the designated parking.
And shifted into our cab.
Our driver? One of those rare people you instantly trust—calm, polite, and helpful.
Before heading to Solang, he took us to a rental shop.
“Yahan se jackets le lo… upar bahut thand hogi.”
Good advice.
We rented snow clothes, got fully geared up, and finally started our journey.

The First Glimpse – Worth Every Effort
As we moved ahead…
The views started changing.
Snow-capped mountains. Snow on the roads. Cold air hitting your face.
That moment when you step out and just say—
“Yaar… this is unreal.”
We clicked pictures.
A lot of them.
And honestly, no picture could capture what it actually felt like.
The Adventure Begins – ATV Ride
Next decision?
ATV.
Because obviously, walking like normal people wasn’t exciting enough.
The ride started.
And within seconds, we knew—
This wasn’t going to be easy.
Sharp turns. Slippery snow. Sudden bumps.
Scary?
Yes.
Fun?
Also yes.
That perfect mix.
We reached the top… but that wasn’t the real destination.
The Climb – Towards Anjani Mahadev Temple
From there, we had to walk.
And what we saw ahead—
Stairs.
Covered in snow.
Completely.
No proper path. No grip.
Just white… everywhere.
We stood there for a second.
Confused.
Excited.
Scared.
The Warning We Ignored
Just before the climb, we met a Pandit ji.
He calmly said:
“Upar barefoot jana hota hai.”
Barefoot.
In snow.
We looked at each other like—
“Yeh mazaak hai kya?”
We got scared.
But then… we ignored it.
Because sometimes, logic loses to curiosity.
The Climb That Wasn’t Easy
We started climbing.
Slowly.
Carefully.
Halfway through—
I slipped.
Fell directly on the stairs.
For a second, everything froze.
But thankfully—no injury.
Layers of clothes saved me.
We laughed it off.
And kept going.
Falling… Getting Up… Repeating
As we went higher—
It got worse.
More slippery. More difficult.
I slipped again.
And again.
At this point, it felt like a routine.
But this is where your people matter.
My husband. My friends.
Constantly helping, holding, encouraging.
And somehow—
Step by step—
We made it to the top.
The Moment That Made It All Worth It
And there it was.
The Shivling.
Formed naturally.
With a waterfall dropping directly over it from a height.
It wasn’t just beautiful.
It was powerful.
We stood there for a while.
Silent.
Clicked pictures.
But more than that—
We just felt the moment.
The Real Challenge – Going Down
Climbing up was hard.
Coming down?
Worse.
Way worse.
We stood there, looking down, thinking—
“How do we even do this?”
The Shortcut That Almost Went Wrong
Then we saw it.
A slide-like path.
With a rope.
People were using it to slide down.
Quick. Easy. Less effort.
But risky.
Very risky.
My husband went first.
And for a second—
He almost lost control near the edge.
Our hearts dropped.
Fear Spreads Fast
A few others tried.
One got hurt.
Another hit their head.
One lady lost grip and kept sliding down uncontrollably, screaming.
At that moment—
We genuinely didn’t know what to do.
No Choice Left
But staying there wasn’t an option.
So we gathered courage.
Held the rope.
And went for it.
Seconds.
Just a few seconds.
But it felt like forever.
And then—
We were down.
Safe.
No injuries.
And honestly?
It was fun.
The kind of fun that comes after fear.
The Calm After the Storm
We walked a bit further.
Found a quiet spot.
No crowd.
Just us.
Sat there.
Played in the snow.
Ordered tea.
Maggi.
That simple combo hits different in the mountains.
Back to Reality
We went back to our ATV guy.
He brought us down.
Reached the cab.
Changed out of our wet snow clothes.
And started our return.
From Empty Roads to Traffic Chaos
While coming up—
No traffic.
Peaceful.
While going back?
Complete chaos.
Long lines. Slow movement.
It took time.
But honestly, after what we had experienced…
Traffic didn’t even bother us.
The Journey Back Home
We returned the rented clothes.
Reached our car.
And finally started our journey back.
Stopped for lunch.
Stopped for tea.
Cold drinks.
Random breaks.
At one point—
The river was flowing beside us.
Beautiful spot.
We stopped.
Clicked pictures.
One last pause before ending the trip.

And Just Like That… It Ended
We drove.
Talked less.
Smiled more.
Reached home late at night.
Tired.
Exhausted.
But full of stories.
The Kind of Day You Don’t Forget
Day 3 wasn’t just about places.
It was about:
Fear. Courage. Falling. Getting back up. And choosing to keep going anyway.
Because sometimes…
The best part of a trip isn’t the destination.
It’s the moment you realize—
“We did it… even when it was scary.”
